About the role
• Title: General Counsel

What you'll do
Legal Advisory & Compliance:
- Provide strategic legal guidance to support business operations, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting the technology and communications sector, offering proactive advice.
Contracts & Negotiations:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, partnership contracts, licensing deals, and vendor agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Manage contract lifecycle processes, ensuring timely renewals and amendments.
Intellectual Property (IP) Management:
- Oversee the company's IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Work closely with external counsel to protect and enforce intellectual property rights globally.
- Advise on IP-related risks in business development and partnerships.
Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:
- Identify potential legal risks and recommend solutions to minimize liability exposure.
- Handle dispute resolution and litigation matters, coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
- Provide legal support for internal investigations and regulatory inquiries.
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies and regulatory filings.
- Support board and executive leadership with corporate structuring and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising activities from a legal perspective.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in corporate, commercial, or technology law, preferably within the SaaS industry.
- Strong understanding of contract law, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and intellectual property matters.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with business teams.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Background in Law, Startups, or Intellectual Property, with a strong understanding of legal frameworks relevant to innovation and business growth.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully guiding teams, making strategic decisions, and driving organizational success.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, ensuring compliance while fostering innovation in fast-paced startup settings.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, bridging legal, technical, and business perspectives to drive impactful results.
