About APOLO

APOLO P2P is the first global 1-to-1 tutoring platform dedicated exclusively to blockchain and cryptocurrency education. We connect students with verified tutors for hourly sessions, empowering personalized learning with secure payment options in fiat and crypto.

Our platform is not course-based. Instead, we offer real-time, on-demand educational sessions supported by built-in tools like live whiteboards, code editors, trading charts, browser-in-browser, and more. Our commitment to legal compliance, KYC, and data security is foundational to the trust we are building globally.

We are in our pre-launch phase, assembling a legal-minded, forward-thinking founding team passionate about compliance, risk management, and decentralized innovation.

The Role: Chief Legal Officer (Equity Only)

As Chief Legal Officer, you will serve as the legal backbone of APOLO, guiding us through complex regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions. You will ensure that our platform adheres to all applicable laws related to education, fintech, crypto payments, user verification (KYC), data protection, and employment law, while helping us shape a sustainable, defensible legal foundation for global growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Legal Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute APOLO's overall legal strategy across education, fintech, and crypto sectors. Advise the executive team on legal risks and strategic decisions, including platform launch, international expansion, and investor negotiations. Build the internal legal framework that aligns with both innovation and compliance, including company policies, disclaimers, terms of service, and user agreements.
  2. Regulatory & Compliance: Monitor and ensure full compliance with laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including KYC/AML, GDPR, international data protection laws, crypto-specific regulations such as MECA in the EU, and education-related licensing requirements. Develop policies for recordkeeping, dispute resolution, intellectual property, and cross-border operations.
  3. Contracts & Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents such as tutor agreements, employment or advisory contracts, vendor agreements, SAFE investment agreements, and fundraising documentation. Design standardized legal templates for internal and external use.
  4. Risk Management: Identify legal risks tied to platform features and propose mitigation strategies. Establish and enforce platform rules for prohibited behavior and legal boundaries. Guide conflict resolution mechanisms for tutor-student disputes.
  5. International Legal Infrastructure: Advise on entity structuring and legal presence across countries, support decisions regarding legal representation and compliance partners, and coordinate with regulatory bodies as needed.
Requirements
  • Licensed legal professional with experience in technology, startups, crypto/blockchain, or fintech law.
  • Strong background in international compliance, contracts, and data protection regulations (especially GDPR).
  • Understanding of crypto payments, stablecoins, KYC/AML procedures, and global risk considerations.
  • Excellent command of legal drafting, negotiation, and communication in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Comfortable operating without salary in early-stage environment in exchange for equity and strategic ownership.
What We Offer
  • Equity ownership in a unique global platform with strong revenue potential and strategic positioning in a niche market.
  • Opportunity to become part of the core founding team and shape legal, operational, and ethical standards from the ground up.
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment with a team committed to responsible innovation.
  • Involvement in a purpose-driven project at the intersection of education, blockchain, and decentralization.
