Applications are invited for Junior Trust Dentist vacancies in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We seek dentists committed to delivering excellent patient care to join our dedicated team providing a range of acute and elective services.
This is a full-time fixed-term post.
The department is staffed by 5 Consultants, 1 Higher Surgical Trainee, 5 Specialty Dentists, and 5 Junior Trust Grade Dentists.
On-call duties cover oral and maxillofacial work only, excluding night-time cover.
The unit offers a range of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. The post holder will work in a well-supported environment with training opportunities in:
Daily duties include outpatient and inpatient care, supporting patient care and participating across both hospital sites, RPH and CDH.
Following training and competency completion, the individual will work in a supportive environment with participation in minor oral surgery lists (LA and GA cases).
The department encourages interest in clinical audit and research.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is the largest provider of head and neck cancer services in the region and the regional Major Trauma Centre. The unit provides orthognathic and salivary gland services, offering excellent training opportunities.
The successful candidate will participate in the oral and maxillofacial junior on-call rota (08:00 – 21:00), with shifts supported by the on-call registrar/middle-grade/consultants.
We promote teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with modern education centres at both Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital sites, offering excellent facilities.
