Division Specific Information

Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.

Location: Dartford, UK

How Will You Make an Impact?

You will work within the production laboratory, dispensing room and packing floor to produce SensititreTM antimicrobial susceptibility products. You will ensure H&S and quality standards are maintained, ensure compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice); and ensure our written procedures are followed. Attention to detail, accuracy and communication are key in this role.

Please be aware that this role may not be suitable for anyone with an allergy to penicillin or other antibiotics.

Location: Dartford, UK

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate manufacture of intermediates and final reagents.
  • Operation of semi automated equipment for the dispensing and production of a range of products.
  • Monitoring of stock levels for products that you are manufacturing.
  • Be responsible for the quality of manufactured reagents, completed documentation and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Use of computerised systems for stock control monitoring to ensure items are available for when they are needed.
  • Highlight any health and safety or quality issues to help support our site safety culture
  • Engage in PPI (continuous improvement) programs.
  • Any other duties/projects as are reasonable and within the skills and ability of the post holder.
  • Actively participate in training, which will be given for all processes carried out.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Interest in science and manufacturing
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/lab environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • To have excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to learn new skills and display them to a high standard.
