Maintenance Operative

AASC - Leicester

Full time - 37.5 hours per week.

Salary - up to £30,000 depending on experience, plus Serco benefits.

Full UK driving licence must be held. Vehicle and tools provided.

At Serco, we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, including providing temporary accommodation.

As a Maintenance Operative, your role is key in ensuring all requested repairs, whether reactive, proactive, or pre-planned (via manager), are completed to the required standard and within SLA deadlines. You will be capable of fitting fire doors and frames, completing fitted kitchens, and fitting bathrooms including plumbing and pipework.

This position offers an exciting opportunity in Birmingham for individuals with previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting, and decorating. You should be highly motivated, capable of managing your own workflow, and able to work within a team when necessary.

You will be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and all users of the property during and after maintenance works.

Part of your role involves purchasing and managing materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers. Vehicles provided will be regularly inspected and maintained in a professional, clean condition.

Flexible Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, between 08:00 and 18:00, to meet operational needs.

On-Call and Out-of-Hours Work

• Occasional out-of-hours on-call duties on a rota basis for emergencies, approximately once every 8 weeks.
