Job Description

Job Title: Contracts Manager / Job Scheduler

Location: Ongar, Essex

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (plus on-call bonus of £125 per weekend day)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

On-Call: 1 evening per week and 1 weekend day per month

Office Ratio: 100% office-based

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

United Drains is a specialist plumbing and drainage company based in Ongar, Essex, servicing the South of England. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scheduler / Contracts Manager to join our professional and friendly control team.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the drainage, plumbing, or construction industry, who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is looking for long-term career progression.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a portfolio of high-end, key commercial clients
  2. Conduct monthly review meetings with clients
  3. Ensure service levels and KPIs are consistently met
  4. Manage a team of plumbing and drainage engineers
  5. Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls
  6. Dispatch jobs and liaise with engineers throughout the day
  7. Deliver exceptional, personalised customer service
  8. Handle customer queries promptly and professionally
  9. Monitor job progress and update clients accordingly
  10. Log all activity accurately on the company CRM system
  11. Provide out-of-hours support one week per month (bonus paid)
Essential Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in account management or contracts management
  2. Industry knowledge of drainage, plumbing or construction
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Excellent customer service background, including high call volumes and job dispatching
  5. Ability to remain calm, professional, and tactful in all situations
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  7. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  8. Able to multitask and prioritise in a busy office environment
  9. Self-motivated, dependable, and a strong team player
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  11. Confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  12. Strong references required
