Job description

Job Title: Plasterer

We are seeking an experienced plasterer to join our team in Peterborough. You will work with Peterborough Councils on various residential projects, including occupied, void properties, and communal areas. Our team is committed to producing high-quality work and delivering excellent customer service.

Your responsibilities will include all aspects of plaster repairs, ranging from minor patch repairs to complete room replastering. This includes removal, patching, boarding, over-boarding, thermal boarding, and plastering. External works such as sand and cement renders are also part of the role.

You must ensure a positive customer experience by maintaining professionalism in communication with service users, clients, and stakeholders. This involves maintaining a professional appearance, displaying company ID, ensuring the condition of vehicles, and adhering to high health and safety standards. You may also be asked to obtain customer feedback upon job completion.

All activities should be processed electronically using a handheld device (PDA), including completing worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, stock management, booking leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding, risk assessments, and method statements.

Role Criteria:

• Ability to complete clean and tidy jobs
• Good knowledge of various plastering backgrounds, including damp issues
• Experience with hacking off, bonding, multi-finish, dot and dab, ceilings, textured surfaces, and damp proofing
• UK full driving license
• Own hand tools

All candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Mears does not currently sponsor visas. To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be over 21, have held your license for more than 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.

All roles are subject to DBS/security checks before employment begins.
