Qualifications

• Experience with NAS 410 / EN 4179 and PCN qualifications.

Job description

Independent Forgings and Alloys Ltd (IFA) is the only single-site forge with open-die radial, press, hammer & ring rolling, as well as closed-die extrusion, drop stamp, and blade forging capabilities worldwide. Over recent years, we have invested significantly, doubling our turnover, and we aim to continue this growth by expanding our established team.

Due to ongoing investment and growth, we are seeking to add an experienced NDT Technician to our Technical team, with a strong background in Ultrasonic testing. This is a regular day position, working 37 hours per week, with overtime available and a competitive package.

Main Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the NDT Manager, you will be responsible for ultrasonic inspection of machined forgings and wrought products, marking identity numbers, and packing goods for dispatch when required. Candidates should have a solid NDT background, ideally with experience in aerospace, nuclear, defence, or other safety-critical sectors.

A Typical Day May Include

• Hands-on ultrasonic inspection
• Visual and dimensional inspection
• Generation of inspection certificates and part-specific technique sheets
• Packing goods for dispatch and marking products prior to dispatch if needed
• Positive Material Identification (PMI)

Essential Qualifications / Certifications

• NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level 2 Ultrasonic Qualification

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

• PCN (EN 9712) Level 2 Ultrasonic Qualification (forgings & wrought products)
• Experience/qualifications in immersion ultrasonic testing
• Forklift truck license and overhead crane experience
• NAS 410 / EN 4179 documented on-the-job experience
