Financial Controller - Group Reporting & Team Leadership

Location: Coventry, UK

Salary: Up to £85k (dependent on experience)

Contract type: Full Time Permanent

Working hours: 40 Hours a Week - Flexible Hybrid Working

About the role

As Financial Controller, you'll play a pivotal role at the heart of Idverde's UK finance function. Leading a team of 7 professionals, you'll oversee financial control and group reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful analysis. You'll work closely with senior leadership to support strategic decisions through consolidation, balance sheet reviews, and cash flow management. As the company grows through acquisitions, you'll lead integration efforts and process optimization to create a best-in-class finance environment. This role offers high visibility and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a business that values finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of 7, including Financial Accountants and Assistant Financial Accountants, providing coaching and development.
  2. Oversee monthly group consolidation, ensuring UK financials are finalized promptly and reported accurately.
  3. Identify and implement process improvements in financial operations and reporting.
  4. Provide strategic insights and detailed analysis to senior leadership on financial performance.
  5. Support the integration of acquisitions, ensuring seamless financial data consolidation.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience in group consolidation, month-end close, and technical reporting.
  • Experience in managing and developing finance teams, especially through change and process improvements.
  • Background in fast-paced, multi-entity environments, ideally PE-backed or retail sector, demonstrating adaptability and hands-on involvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders; experience with SAP FC or similar systems is desirable.
