What you'll be doing

• Provide advice and support to operational teams on environmental matters.
• Maintain relationships with regulators, clients, and subcontractors.
• Maintain relationships with local stakeholders.
• Investigate and report incidents to the Environment and Sustainability Manager.
• Ensure on-site compliance with environmental legislation and coach teams in applying controls and mitigations.
• Support sustainability activities for the project.
• Deliver value-adding environmental projects and support ecological enhancements.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors on environmental management and sustainability.
• Produce and update environmental management plans and risk assessments.
• Provide on-site advice on environmental management, compliance, and project-specific mitigation measures.
• Investigate environmental incidents and support controls to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure implementation of environmental management systems on project sites.
• Stay updated on standards and legislation, recommending changes as needed.
• Deliver environmental training, toolbox talks, and onsite coaching.
• Produce reports, such as case studies and environmental performance reports.
• Support audit and assurance activities, including external audits.
• Assist in developing KPIs and management reports.
• Perform other duties as required.

Who we're looking for

• Strong knowledge of environmental management and sustainability issues.
• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
• Practical experience with environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, licenses, and regulators.
• Understanding of ecological matters and environmental law.
• Full driver's license and flexibility to travel.
• Understanding of the construction environment.
• Literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Internal environmental auditor qualification.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• PIEMA or IEMA membership.
• Commercial awareness.
