Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet business waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel and offers flexible working arrangements.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide specialist guidance and advice to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to meet customer and legal requirements.
  • Support risk management by defining an environmental assurance regime, including audits, inspections, and assurance practices.
  • Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
  • Develop and maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports for clients and internal use.
  • Ensure regular reviews of environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks, within Business Units.
  • Support project teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout project lifecycle.

Who you are:

You should have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification - PIEMA
  • ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
  • Proven track record of reducing environmental impact of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycle
  • Experience managing complex technical projects and change initiatives
  • Full driving license and flexibility to travel across the UK
