Right now, we are looking for a Employment Specialist to play a pivotal role in our Haringey & Barnet IPS service in Haringey.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
To work with clients with more serious mental illness, you will need to be comfortable supporting people who have experienced / are experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as possibly other serious difficulties in their lives. Although you will receive full training and support, it's important you are aware of the potential impact this may have on your own mental wellbeing.

Here's what the team will be looking for
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the support needs of individuals with mental health conditions, particularly in helping them find, return to, or retain mainstream employment. They will bring experience from health or social care settings and demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based employment models such as Individual Placement and Support (IPS), with a commitment to employment retention and fidelity to IPS principles. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, they will confidently engage with clients, external stakeholders, and partners across a variety of settings, building strong local partnerships and offering creative, person-centred solutions. Organised and outcome-driven, the candidate will effectively manage time and competing priorities, with experience in diary management and working under tight deadlines. They will show a sound understanding of and commitment to policies such as Health & Safety, Data Protection, Equality & Diversity, and employment law, particularly the Equality Act 2010. A dynamic, empathetic, and self-motivated individual, they will value the role of employment in mental health recovery, maintain a positive and professional attitude, and proactively manage their own wellbeing and development. The candidate will be competent in assessing client needs, developing action plans, and maintaining accurate casework records using Microsoft Office and relevant databases. A willingness to travel across the designated London Borough and engage in ongoing professional development is essential.
