Job title: Employment Specialist

Salary: £28,840 to £30,900 per annum

Based at: Nottingham. Travel required between delivery locations

Contract: Fixed term until 31 October 2025, full time (35 hours per week)

WHY THE POST EXISTS

Are you passionate about making a difference and helping others? Would you like to work in an environment that puts the customer (our participants) at the heart of everything we do? If yes, you might be our next Employment Specialist.

In this role within the Employment Services department, you play a key part in delivering welfare-to-work programmes and the Individual Placement and Support approach, which aims to help people who have a health condition or disability, the long-term unemployed and other specified disadvantaged groups (Early Access Groups) find, enter and sustain paid employment.

You must be a self-motivated and target-driven individual who has a track record of delivering excellent customer service and wants to help people achieve their full potential in work.

THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Manage a caseload of participants using the Individual Placement and Support approach.
  • Provide person-centred advice and guidance to participants.
  • Meet participants to understand their key skills, aspirations and goals as well as assessing support needs.
  • Complete Vocational Profiles and produce Action Plans.
  • Operate from the Chambers offices or in the community; this role is not suitable for home working.
  • Build positive relationships with local employers to enable participants to move into suitable employment including sourcing job opportunities and raising awareness of reasonable adjustments, return to work strategies and ongoing contact.
  • Work collaboratively with Primary Care and NHS teams, job centres, VCS organisations and training partners to maintain positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment.
  • Able and willing to travel across Nottinghamshire and the High Peak to meet participants and employers to ensure our services are accessible to all.
