We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Platform Engineer (AWS) to join our London practice.

Life as a Senior Principal Platform Engineer:

As a Senior Principal Platform Engineer at Slalom, you will be at the forefront of technological innovation, working with cutting-edge AWS cloud solutions to drive business transformation. You will be the go-to person for AWS solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and design cloud architectures that meet the needs of our clients. As a thought leader, you will provide strategic direction and mentorship, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Your role will also be hands-on, leveraging your expertise in AWS and DevOps to accelerate platform and environment enablement for developers through automation and continuous improvement. Specifically, you will:

• Lead in the design, implementation and management of cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Lead client conversations to understand their business requirements, present AWS solutions and ensure successful implementation and adoption strategy.
• Work directly with clients and Slalom teams by leading the design and delivery of major components of a modern engineering solution.
• Be the solution ambassador for AWS cloud solutions, architecture, related technologies and their interdependencies.
• Lead and inspire a team of engineers, promoting professional growth and development. Provide strategic direction and mentorship to foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
• Promote our people-first mentality, encourage well-being, and be an advocate for diversity & inclusion across our teams.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes using AWS DevOps tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.
• Implement and manage containerisation and orchestration using tools like Docker and Kubernetes on AWS.
• Stay current with the latest AWS technologies, best practices, and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

What You'll Bring:

• Good leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing, mentoring and guiding technical engineers.
• Hands-on experience as an AWS Cloud Leader with experience migrating and deploying AWS cloud-based solutions.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing and AWS services, including AWS S3, AWS IAM, and EC2.
• Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and AWS Landing Zones.
• Good working knowledge with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Extensive experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerisation, and orchestration.
