Summary

Ready to lead world-class events that drive global climate action?
Join Climate Group as our Senior Events Project Manager and take centre stage in delivering some of the most influential climate events on the planet, including Climate Week NYC and the Asia Action Summit. This is more than just an events role, it's your opportunity to shape high-impact experiences that inspire change, influence policy, and bring together the world's most powerful voices in climate.

We're looking for a strategic thinker and confident project leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, positively crowding-in experience from across functions. You'll be the driving force behind our flagship events, ensuring they're delivered with precision, purpose, and impact, while also helping us explore exciting new opportunities in emerging global regions.

If you're passionate about climate, love leading complex projects, and want to make a real difference on a global stage, we'd love to hear from you

About the role

The Senior Manager is tasked with taking ownership of significant components within our events portfolio. They will spearhead the seamless execution of these events to the highest standard, while maximising their strategic impact for the organisation and through this, our climate impact. They will work closely and confidently with senior internal stakeholders as well as our business and government teams, ensuring a structured and aligned approach to our event delivering processes.

We are looking for a detail-orientated professional with a deep understanding of what it means to deliver events for purpose and to ensure maximum impact for a sector. They need to be capable of seamlessly collaborating across departments and regional offices, be confident when working with very senior stakeholders and possess expertise in driving forward complex projects.

This is a senior role in an internationally renowned events team which is part of Climate Group's strategic external communications function. It therefore comes with significant opportunities for professional development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead project delivery for major events, acting as the internal "account manager" to align teams, manage timelines, and ensure delivery meets strategic goals.
  • Strongly hold responsibility for the outcomes we want to achieve for certain events and be both tactically flexible and determined to achieve those.
  • Enable cross-functional teams across departments and regions, ensuring their buy-in, clear communication, accountability, and progress against milestones.
  • Develop and manage project plans and input into budgets, translating briefs into actionable, revenue-generating proposals and ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Oversee the delegate management team which includes VIP stakeholder engagement mapping, data management and managing the delegate experience from planning through to on-site delivery.
  • Understanding and proactively integrating the needs of the whole organisation, into your project plans, building good relations to secure the input you need from outside your team.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve blockers, and drive continuous improvement through post-event reviews, reporting and leading on certain initiatives.
  • Support strategic development of the Events function by leading planning, process and other improvements and mentoring junior team members.
  • Deputising for the Head of Events on occasions, both internally and with external stakeholders.

About you

Essential

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, high-impact events from concept to delivery.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Confident communicator who can hold teams accountable and escalate issues when needed.
  • Experience working across departments and with senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., ClickUp).
  • Budget management experience.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering international events, especially in the US or Europe.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Understanding of climate action or international policy.
  • Experience with hybrid or virtual event formats
