Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Overview: To optimize operational performance through proactive and reactive maintenance, ensuring safety through safe working practices and equipment, while providing on-call support for the factory.
Main Activities:
- Safeguard the integrity and safety of all plant and equipment associated with manufacturing operations, adhering to company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to site projects aligned with corporate objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and modifications within the computerized maintenance management system.
- Manage spares inventory, ensuring critical spares are stocked appropriately.
- Oversee MTTR/MTBF, service schedules, CI activities, and control of spares and consumables to support manufacturing and assembly areas.
- Maintain site facilities in compliance with regulations and oversee subcontractors' safety and work quality.
- Develop autonomous maintenance skills in designated areas and ensure effective execution.
- Attend to breakdowns using fault-finding techniques to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Complete all work activities following company policies and procedures.
Job Scope:
- Maintain 5S standards and personal discipline in all maintenance activities.
- Follow safe systems of work, including RAMS and LOTO procedures.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance as per statutory requirements.
- Adhere to the Schneider Production System and departmental KPIs.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and waste.
- Foster strong customer relationships and utilize feedback for improvements.
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and proper management of equipment and consumables.
- Support training and personal development initiatives.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in maximizing departmental efficiency and aligning with corporate policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent with an engineering qualification (ONC/HNC) and relevant hands-on experience.
- Desirable: 17th edition wiring regulations and 2391 certification.
- High computer/PLC literacy; SAP and CMMS experience preferred.
- Desired: MEWP and forklift licenses (training available).
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, communication skills, and enthusiasm are essential.
- Proven experience in maintenance, demonstrating proactive and complex problem-solving skills.
