Mission
To optimise operational performance through proactive and reactive maintenance techniques, ensuring safety through the adoption of safe working practices and the provision of safe plant and equipment. Also, to provide on rota call-out support for the factory.
Main Activities
- Safeguard the integrity and safety of all plant and equipment related to manufacturing operations by performing work to company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to site projects aligned with corporate objectives.
- Maintain accurate records in the computerized maintenance management system of all repairs, servicing, and modifications to improve data relevance for management decisions.
- Manage and document an effective spares system for all equipment, ensuring critical spares are stocked appropriately.
- Responsible for MTTR/MTBF, service schedule adherence, CI activities, and management/control of critical spares and consumables, including daily KPI reporting to support manufacturing and assembly areas.
- Maintain site facilities in compliance with regulations and oversee the safety and management of subcontractors.
- Develop autonomous maintenance in allocated areas, ensuring training and effective execution to uphold standards.
- Attend to breakdowns using advanced fault-finding techniques to minimize production downtime and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Job Scope
- Maintain high standards of 5S and personal discipline in all maintenance activities.
- Follow safe systems of work, including RAMS and LOTO procedures.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance in line with statutory requirements.
- Respect and adhere to the Schneider Production System, departmental KPIs, and meetings.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and waste.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, incorporating feedback for improvement.
- Allocate costs accurately to internal orders and cost centers, including equipment and consumables.
- Support ongoing training and personal development to meet operational objectives.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager to maximize departmental efficiency and align with corporate policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Formal craft apprenticeship or equivalent with an engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or similar) and hands-on electrical, electronic, or mechanical experience.
- 17th edition wiring regulations (desirable).
- 2391 Test and Inspection certification.
- High computer/PLC literacy; SAP and CMMS experience is preferred but not essential.
- MEWP and forklift licenses (training available if needed).
- Strong team working, problem-solving, communication skills, and enthusiasm are essential.
- Proven experience in maintenance roles, demonstrating proactive response to complex issues and breakdowns.
