Job description

The Truck Mechanic will provide all repairs and preventive maintenance for CTI’s Trailer Fleet as well as CargoMasters. Must have strong communication skills and experience in maintaining and repairing semi-trailers.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

CTI Trailer and C/M Mechanic general duties:

1. Complete advanced preventive maintenance inspections to comply with DOT regulations.
2. Inspect, adjust, and repair all CargoMaster and trailer-related issues in a timely manner, utilizing OEM software to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
3. Maintain hubs and axles, and adjust or replace them as required.
4. Assist in moving equipment around the yard.
5. Pull trailers in and out of the garage with a yard truck, in limited space.
6. Maintain a clean and safe work area compliant with OSHA and company regulations and policies.
7. Keep accurate records of all work performed, including inspection reports and repair documentation.
8. Perform all tire-related repairs, including mounting and dismounting new and recap tires.
9. Be available for on-call duties once or twice a month.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of trailer repairs.
• Proficiency with maintenance software and computers, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience with electrical systems, ABS brake systems, suspension, landing gear, and CargoMasters, as well as basic trailer repairs.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs and maneuver up to 180 lbs with or without assistance.

You Will Excite Us If You Have:

• CDL A license.
• Automotive Service Excellence Certification.
• Experience in welding and fabrication on trailers.
