POSITION TITLE: Facility Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: General Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

COMPENSATION: $19.00 - $25.00 an hour DOE

PURPOSE

The Facility Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems within the facility. Ensuring health, safety, and operational procedures are followed to enhance the member experience, this role maintains smooth and efficient facility operations.

The ideal candidate is engaging, diligent, organized, results-driven, and possesses excellent customer service skills. Collaboration is key in this role.

DELIVERABLES

The main responsibilities include:

• Communication: Daily verbal updates and status reports to the General Manager; document work completed and seek feedback on quality and needs.
• Scheduling & Planning: Collaborate with the General Manager to schedule, deploy, and verify work completion.
• Inspection and Testing: Regularly inspect and test equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Safety: Maintain safety of members, staff, and assets through inspections, club walks, and communication.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment and systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance as outlined in the CMMS system.
• Repairs: Address issues with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Work Orders: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
• Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory; update work orders daily in the CMMS system.
• Equipment Monitoring: Monitor building systems and equipment for optimal performance.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain cardio, weight, and general workout equipment; assemble new equipment; refurbish equipment as needed.
• Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance issues promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work with management, contractors, vendors, and other staff as needed.
• General Upkeep: Perform tasks like patching, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping.
