THE ROLE

Carwow - Sell My Car is seeking an experienced and visionary Transport Director to lead a transport service facilitating seamless car movements from sellers to dealers across the UK, Germany, and Spain. This role requires strategic leadership with a proven track record in automotive logistics, especially in building services from the ground up.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive transport strategy for moving cars efficiently across the UK, Germany, and Spain.
2. Design and build the transport service, including appraisal and inspection processes, choosing transport methods, routes, and logistics partnerships.
3. Build and lead a high-performing transport team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
4. Oversee daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective car movements, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer and dealer service.
5. Continuously evaluate and improve transport processes, leveraging technology and data to optimize performance.
6. Establish and manage relationships with transport providers, negotiating contracts and service levels for reliability and cost efficiency.
7. Manage the transport budget and P&L, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated effectively.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• At least 10 years of experience in the automotive industry and logistics, focusing on car movements.
• Proven experience in building and leading transport or logistics services from scratch, capable of scaling offerings from 0 to 20.
• Experience developing and leveraging tech solutions in partnership with product teams.
• Deep understanding of the automotive markets in the UK, Germany, and Spain.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
