About The Role

Within the central Aberdeen Risk & Compliance function, the Data Privacy Office oversees privacy risks and ensures compliance with applicable laws. Reporting to the Data Protection Officer and Global Head of Data Privacy, the Data Protection Analyst supports the company’s data privacy practices, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop knowledge of privacy laws across regions including Asia Pacific, Americas, EMEA, and UK
  • Interpret complex legal and regulatory changes and advise on implications for the business
  • Provide pragmatic advice on privacy compliance, data breaches, and data subject requests
  • Maintain and develop privacy solutions and policies
  • Support compliance monitoring and training development
  • Assist in legal contract review related to data processing and international data transfer compliance
  • Create content for internal privacy training and awareness
  • Lead on complex privacy issues and strategic projects as needed
  • Build relationships with privacy practitioners across the business
  • Support audit preparations, breach investigations, and regulator reporting
  • Develop metrics and reports on privacy risks and compliance
  • Maintain records of Data Controllers and registrations
  • Assist with data breach notifications and incident management
  • Drive continuous improvement in privacy management processes
About The Candidate
  • Experience in privacy compliance roles within dynamic environments
  • Degree or equivalent qualification, or a Data Protection certification (e.g., CIPP/E)
  • Deep understanding of data privacy laws, especially EU GDPR
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong analytical and interpretative skills
  • Professional challenge and support skills, with an understanding of when to escalate
  • Strategic thinking and risk assessment abilities
