Role Overview

Reed has partnered with an organisation in the FMCG sector seeking a Commercial Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This organisation has experienced significant growth over the past 6 years, increasing its turnover by 25 million.

The role focuses on increasing market share and profitability by expanding business with existing customers and securing new opportunities across current and new channels. Responsibilities include identifying new business prospects, collaborating with teams like NPD and Finance, and maintaining high service standards for existing clients. Building strong relationships with buyers to enhance customer satisfaction is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Achieve Commercial Objectives: Develop plans, allocate resources, and monitor performance to meet commercial targets.
  2. Business Development: Drive growth by developing new business and expanding existing accounts.
  3. Commercial Strategy: Formulate and implement strategies aligned with company goals to maximize profitability and promote sustainable growth.
  4. Client and Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, addressing their needs effectively.
  5. Internal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and other teams to execute commercial initiatives.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  7. Key Account & Commercial Management:
    • Hold weekly cross-functional meetings to review customer activity.
    • Manage critical paths for NPD and new product launches.
    • Communicate with customers regarding service issues and coordinate with the site team for solutions.
    • Provide product samples and information to customers in collaboration with the site team.
    • Conduct sales meetings with customers to review performance and explore opportunities.
    • Complete commercial documentation for new lines promptly.
    • Perform store checks and update stakeholders on RSPs, weights, and new product lines.
    • Follow directives from the Group Director regarding product selling strategies.
