Construction Engineer - HVAC

Accountabilities:
  1. Support the Building Lead in the day-to-day construction planning, engineering, and works progression of your specific allocated building(s).
  2. Deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to support the MEH construction activities.
  3. Define boundary of scope of works.
  4. Liaise with necessary SME's and client counterparts.
  5. Engage with the constructability of the construction of your specified building(s) to facilitate sequencing of installation that maximizes efficiency.
  6. Manage project change within your specified building(s), ensuring adherence to the project change process, including documentation and scope changes in coordination with the Building Lead.
  7. Ensure documents are compliant with latest works information and MEH documentation, and reviewed at least biannually.
  8. Own and drive deliverables from conception to >90% first-time acceptance criteria.
  9. Prioritize and own documentation to enable construction as per the level 4 plan, e.g., T-3 months acceptance prior to works.
  10. Support continuous improvement programmes.
  11. Report directly to the Building Manager or nominated deputy.
  12. Manage and maintain Procon reporting data for your allocated building(s).
  13. Provide positive HSE leadership and build a strong, compliant HS&E culture throughout the project lifecycle.
  14. Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.
  15. Review and provide feedback on resource levels for effective support.
Key Deliverables:
  1. Deliver Construction Work packs supporting the MEH Alliance programme.
  2. Utilize the Procon system for construction progress reporting.
  3. Ensure compliance with Work Authorization and Permit systems.
  4. Coordinate safe access routing to workfaces.
  5. Support topographical and other surveys for construction.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Relevant degree in construction or HVAC engineering, or HNC with extensive experience, or 10 years' site management experience.

Note:

A competency-based interview is required to confirm or justify deviations from the above requirements. Preferred qualifications include IOSH Managing Safely, CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport, and the ability to obtain BPSS security clearance. Professional accreditation and experience in large-scale construction, especially in heavy industry or nuclear sectors, are desirable.
