Job description

Job Vacancy

We are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our HR team on a fixed-term basis. The role focuses on enhancing the council's attraction and talent acquisition strategies by developing inclusive approaches to reduce vacancies and reliance on agency workers, especially in sectors facing recruitment and retention challenges.

Aligned with workforce plans, you will develop strategies to attract high-quality candidates, aiming to decrease vacancies across the Council, reduce dependency on agency staff, and provide professional advice to support these objectives.

You will participate in key projects to fulfill our 3-year short-term action plan as part of the Workforce Strategy 2024-2034, which has ambitious strategic goals. Full details are available in the recruitment pack.

Essential qualities include excellent communication and organizational skills, a flexible approach, and a positive attitude. Candidates must hold a degree-level qualification (or equivalent), preferably in management, business analysis, human resources, or a related field.

Candidates should have over 5 years of experience working in a professional management consultancy at a senior level, with proven success in improving recruitment and attraction strategies. Knowledge of social networking benefits for recruitment is also critical.

Knowledge
  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent), preferably in management, business analysis, human resources, or a relevant discipline, demonstrating research, analysis, and report-writing skills.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute, such as CIPD, is desirable.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a senior management consultancy role, with competence in project management, reporting, analysis, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Participation in internal working groups for talent acquisition is expected.
  • Deep knowledge of social networking benefits for recruitment is essential.

Directorate: Place

Location: Fairfield House

Contract: Fixed-term for 1 year

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary: Starting at £46,511.92 per annum, based on 36 hours/week

Note: Successful applicants will be appointed at the first point on the salary scale.
