Job summary

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to oversee our civil engineering contract at Fawley refinery in Southampton. This is a senior role responsible for the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of projects, including civil engineering, facilities management, and reactive maintenance.

This is a full-time, site-based position, working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Leading all ongoing projects at Fawley refinery
  2. Managing a team of over 75 personnel
  3. Ensuring commercial performance and liaising with the commercial team
  4. Collaborating with the SHEQ team to maintain safety, environmental standards, and quality
  5. Reviewing upcoming work and assisting the bid team with tenders
  6. Attending progress meetings
  7. Managing project timelines in coordination with the Planning team
  8. Conducting regular site visits to uphold safety and quality standards
  9. Problem-solving and managing personnel, leading by example
  10. Driving change and continuous improvement
  11. Interfacing with clients, attending meetings, and reporting on project statuses
  12. Representing Trant at union meetings and working collaboratively with unions
  13. Working closely with the commercial team to ensure project adherence to contracts
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • BEng/HND in Civil Engineering
  • CSCS certification
  • Experience in delivering civil engineering projects, preferably in Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
