A leading financial services group seeks a Business Oversight Manager for its UK PWM team. A position is open for a Business Oversight Manager for UK PWM. The Business Oversight Manager is a key role in the Management Team reporting to the head of Business Oversight for UK PWM.
The Business Oversight Team supports the COO in the execution of a broad range of activities, including risk management, operations, outsourcing, project management, sales and pipeline management, financial and regulatory reporting etc. The role has a particular focus on data analytics and risk/control activities.
Your role
• Execution of first line of defence (1LOD) controls activities including sample testing, data analytics and evaluation, and review of output from centralised control functions, with the goal of confirming compliance with UK regulatory requirements and firm policy.
• Act as primary on the scheduling and execution of the 1LOD Consumer Duty framework, including fair value assessments, qualitative and quantitative testing against defined good outcomes, vulnerable clients analysis and assessments.
• Act as primary on the execution of the branch outsourcing framework, including updates to SLAs/MOUs (and drafting of new SLAs/MOUs where required), risk assessments, exit strategies, ongoing reporting.
• Report results of control execution, develop proposals to remediate findings, and proactively execute agreed actions to the Head of Business Oversight and COO.
• Provide input to the development of the London Branch oversight framework, including the development of new KPIs and KRIs, where applicable and opportunities for efficiency.
• Support the Head of Business Oversight and COO in the preparation of materials for governance meetings and regulatory reporting (e.g. Executive Committee and Consumer Duty Board Report).
• Support the CEO of London Branch by providing regular and ad-hoc sales management data analysis and reporting.
• Participate in periodic reviews, project management, regulatory implementations etc. at the discretion of the COO and Head of Business Oversight.
• Manage and develop accessibility to key data/information sources of the London Branch (including tableaus/system extracts and other means).
• Assist in the analysis of data and information in relation to regulatory enquiries.
Your profile
• The role has a particular focus on data analytics and risk/control activities, therefore EXCEL skills (formulae) and experience handling larger sets of data are essential.
• Degree educated (or equivalent). Numerical or IT discipline preferred e.g. accounting, economics or finance or equivalent.
• At least 2-3 years prior experience in wealth management. Experience of UK regulatory environment strongly preferred.
• Detail oriented with an investigative mindset, coupled with strong ability to critically analyse data and produce accurate, reconcilable output.
• Highly motivated, proactive and energetic self-starter who takes ownership.
• Good organizational skills - manage and prioritise multiple tasks across different time horizons within deadlines.
• Knowledge of wealth management services and investment products, as well as wealth management regulatory landscape.
• Excellent MS skills, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
The ideal candidate will have existing experience working within risk or compliance of a UK wealth manager and have a strong interest in developing a career within these areas. They will be proactive and organised with an eye for detail, be able to efficiently and critically analyse data, and strive to produce quality output at all times.
