This role reports to the Head of EAP PO.

This position is newly created in the EAP PO team, supporting activities within Privacy, especially leading Europe and Asia-Pacific Privacy's RCM activities as an Oversight Function and Risk Owner, including governance frameworks, policies, standards, and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintain the privacy laws, rules, and regulations inventory for Europe and Asia-Pacific and map to Risk Owners.
  2. Provide guidance and support to promote strong privacy controls.
  3. Collaborate with the Privacy team on RCM accountabilities for the EAP PO.
  4. Develop privacy risk assessments, metrics, and reporting mechanisms.
  5. Support regulatory changes in Europe and Asia-Pacific as the Privacy Office Regulatory Change Lead.
  6. Engage in industry advocacy related to upcoming regulatory changes.
  7. Update and monitor privacy governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  8. Support strategic projects and maintain privacy documentation.
  9. Assist in transaction due diligence to understand privacy risks.
  10. Build relationships with stakeholders and promote TD's privacy program.
  11. Contribute to the Global Privacy strategy and programs.
  12. Identify and escalate key issues/risks.
  13. Participate actively in the Privacy team, sharing knowledge and innovating processes.
  14. Develop and maintain privacy governance documentation.
  15. Review contracts for deviations and privacy terms.
  16. Develop testing plans and perform monitoring activities.
  17. Lead or support special projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Ability to interpret complex laws and regulations.
  2. Knowledge of European and international privacy legislation.
  3. Strong independent work, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  5. Experience in governance documentation and enterprise initiatives.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  7. Education: Degree in Law preferred.
  8. Background in Privacy, Legal, Compliance, or Risk Management.
  9. IAPP certification or similar is an asset.
