Job Description:

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for an international engineering business based in Renfrewshire.

This is a permanent position, with a salary of up to £65,000, working 37.5 hours per week, with early finish on Fridays, plus benefits such as private medical care and a contributory pension. Experience in designing PLC systems and full lifecycle engineering for projects is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Providing engineering design solutions and full lifecycle engineering support
• Working on new product designs, meeting client specifications, and upgrading existing equipment
• Creating bills of materials and sourcing suitable components and materials
• Preparing engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, and reports
• Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation
• Supervisory/management experience in coaching/mentoring a small team
• Designing and commissioning HV and LV electrical systems with associated calculations

Skills and experience required:

• Proven electrical and electronics design skills
• Experience with design calculations and software tools such as CAD packages
• Knowledge of design standards
• Experience in control systems design using PLC
• Experience with PLC industrial automation network interfaces like Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet
• Knowledge of DC systems and power distribution systems design is an advantage
• Experience with HV and LV electrical systems
