Electrical Design Engineer

BAE Systems, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Design Electrical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is crucial for supporting the Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) Project. The position is based in Prestwick with hybrid working arrangements of 2-3 days on-site per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) Project
• Develop aircraft modifications to facilitate ARA MLU
• Liaise with third-party design organisations
• Compile, check, and approve engineering drawings
• Potentially take on the role of a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE), subject to management approval

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in electrical design standards and techniques
• Experience as an Electrical Designer in the Defence sector
• BAE146 / AVRO RJ experience is advantageous
• Understanding of engineering principles within the Defence and Security industry
• Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
• Duration: 12 months
