Job Description:

Turnitin is seeking to hire a Regional People Partnerships Director to join our Global People Team (must be located in EMEA - willing to work EMEA hours). The People Team enables Turnitin to unleash the full potential of ‘One Team’ and culture which, in turn, enables it to deliver its business strategy and purpose.

The People Team is split into four verticals:

  • Global People Partners
  • Centers of Excellence (COEs)
  • People Services / HR Shared Services (PSS)
  • People Strategy & Operations (PS&O)

This role will report to the Senior Director, Global People Partnerships and serve as the People Business Partner within our EMEA Operations and support globally as needed. The incumbent will primarily partner with frontline Leadership Team members and their employees and will interact with other teams across the company to provide tactical support as well as strategic thought leadership related to the employee lifecycle, with specific focus on employment law, employee relations, engagement, inclusion, operational efficiency, and effectiveness aligned to Turnitin values. The incumbent will also have extensive knowledge and experience of UK and EMEA employment law across various countries. A depth of experience in employee relations, strong business acumen, and the ability to handle ambiguity and problem solve with a solutions-based, growth mindset focus.

Primarily, they will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to operational partners and an aligned business partner within the people team to ensure a true one team approach to employee relations.
  • Develop open and enduring stakeholder relationships with Turnitin people managers to support their responsibilities as leaders.
  • Support the delivery of the People Strategy and link it operationally to business needs, providing coaching and development for managers and their teams.
  • Support operational and people team transformational efforts aimed at improving overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Execute on annual and bi-annual plans/OKRs with COE support to ensure continuous improvements in metrics like turnover, retention, diversity, etc.
  • Advise Turnitin Leaders on effective organizational design and development to achieve operational outcomes.
  • Work closely with Stakeholders and the Talent Acquisition Team to forecast talent needs and ensure a pipeline of exceptional talent.
  • Research best practices externally to mature and sustain key people practices within Turnitin.
  • Support and backup the entire GPP people team as needed.
  • Drive and sustain change, ensuring processes are documented and automated where applicable, engaging COE and other partners.
  • Translate information into data to support decision making.
  • Communicate proactively and transparently up, down, and sideways.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • 10+ years of global HR experience managing multiple countries and remote workers, with a mix of HR COEs and generalist functions.
  • Extensive employee relations experience across multiple countries.
  • Experience in a SaaS or tech organization preferred.
  • Strategic thinking with tactical execution ability. Willingness to own tactical processes daily and drive big-picture outcomes.
  • Flexibility to work hours aligned with the broader team and travel within the region and for business needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-based approach.
  • Ability to work independently and be highly accountable.
  • Operational knowledge of relevant HR/employment laws and regulations.
  • Technological proficiency with HRIS, ATS, engagement platforms, Google Suite, and Apple products.
  • Data literacy and willingness to learn data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, especially with C-suite audiences.
  • Capabilities in negotiations, project management, process improvement, conflict, and change management.
  • Undergraduate degree in HR or related field.
  • SHRM / CIPD or equivalent membership.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience with Google Suite, BambooHR
  • Language skills
  • Psychometrics qualification
  • Masters or Ph.D. in HRM or related fields
  • Enneagram/MBTI/Insights certification
