NHS Fife Older Adult Community Mental Health Team – Central Fife
The service has a rare and exciting opportunity within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Central Fife for a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse. We welcome applications from highly motivated individuals with experience working with older adults with functional and organic conditions. The position is based at Whytemans Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
Applicants must be registered nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience related to the health and wellbeing of older adults with mental illness. They should be able to engage effectively with patients to support their recovery and personal outcomes.
We seek a confident individual capable of handling challenging situations independently, including in patients' homes across Central Fife. The role involves managing your own caseload, conducting mental health assessments, and developing and evaluating person-centred, individualised care plans.
As a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse, you will assist in supervising and developing junior staff, support the Nurse Team Lead with managerial tasks, and demonstrate excellent team working and leadership skills. The role requires motivation, initiative, and the ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team. You will also serve as an Assessor/Supervisor for Student Nurses, requiring excellent communication skills and adaptability.
The role involves using IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Morse.
Successful applicants will receive full induction and opportunities for clinical and Nurse line management supervision.
The working pattern is within office hours, Monday to Friday, 0900-1700, with potential weekend work in the future.
