Role: Senior Clinical Fellow

Base: The Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow

The General Fellow will work with the existing Department of Neurosurgery middle-grade rota and participate in all aspects of this work. The post-holder will support a designated team and work closely with the Consultant body to deliver high quality care.

The post holder can expect frequent access to theatre, clinic, MDTs and ward-based management of patients. They will be assigned an educational supervisor who will support the candidate in the

This post is ideal for those candidates seeking further exposure to a wide range of neurosurgery in both an emergency and elective setting. This post will allow candidates to hone their skillset and become a better-rounded neurosurgeon.

The duties of this role will involve surgical management of all sub-specialty cases as well as routine and emergency work. The successful candidate would be expected to attend daily handovers and ward rounds, contribute to the education of the wider unit, and participate in the 16-person rota (2-resident on call).

We would encourage academic interest during their time within the department.
