Job Overview

NHS Fife Older Adult Community Mental Health Team – Central Fife is offering a rare and exciting opportunity within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Central Fife for a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse. We welcome applications from highly motivated individuals experienced in working with older adults with functional and organic conditions. The position is based at Whytemans Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with patients to support recovery and personal outcomes.
• Manage own caseload, conduct mental health assessments, and develop and evaluate personalized care plans.
• Supervise and support junior staff and assist the Nurse Team Lead with managerial tasks.
• Provide assessment and supervision roles for Student Nurses.
• Work autonomously in patients' homes across Central Fife, handling challenging situations with confidence.

Candidate Requirements

• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Experience in dealing with older adults with mental health issues.
• Excellent communication, team working, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Morse.
• Willingness and ability to travel across a large geographical area in a timely manner.

Additional Information

Full induction provided, with opportunities for clinical and line management supervision. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 0900-1700, with potential weekend work in the future.
