Title and Summary

Position: Director, Enterprise Strategy

Overview

Enterprise Strategy tackles the most important strategic opportunities and challenges for Mastercard across business units globally by working directly with the CEO, the Executive Leadership, and senior leaders.

As a member of the Enterprise Strategy team, you will become an owner of Mastercard's corporate strategy through the formulation and communication of high-priority strategies. The projects you lead will address emerging strategic opportunities and issues aimed at fostering long-term growth and innovation. Additionally, you will collaborate cross-functionally across product, sales, corporate development, and other teams to help drive organic and inorganic growth opportunities aligned with overarching strategic priorities.

Role Responsibilities

1. Lead high-priority strategic projects, including scoping and structuring problems, planning, conducting complex analysis and research, and providing insights and recommendations.
2. Develop strategy presentations and memos for C-suite executives and Mastercard’s Board of Directors.
3. Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape, sharing insightful reports and analyses with the broader team and senior executives.
4. Develop new ideas for growth opportunities based on market and competitive context.
5. Refine the corporate strategy periodically to reflect key issues impacting or expected to impact the company.
6. Evaluate potential areas for acquisition and/or investment based on strategic priorities.
7. Facilitate, influence, and contribute content to help business leaders design and advance their strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
8. Coach junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree from a top-tier program preferred.
• Knowledge of financial services and/or payment industry required.
• 6+ years of consulting experience at a leading consulting firm and/or internal strategy units, including at least one year of project leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and business acumen; experienced in identifying critical issues and handling ambiguity.
• Proven ability to lead company-wide complex projects from start to finish, effectively managing stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
• Experience working with large global clients or within global organizations, with a track record of building long-lasting relationships.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of developing high-quality presentations and memos independently.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills and modeling experience.
