Job Description:

We are looking for a Cancer Clinical Trials Deputy Operations Manager to join our team.

The Imperial Clinical Trials Unit-Cancer (ICTU-Ca), led by Professor Michael Seckl, provides a core accredited environment to develop and conduct world-class cancer clinical trials led by Imperial College. The unit focuses on precision medicine and proof of concept clinical trials, undertaking studies from phase Ib to phase III across multiple disease sites at national and international levels. The portfolio includes innovative imaging modalities, translational research, and evolving study designs.

ICTU-Ca is part of the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), which covers various therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, metabolic diseases, respiratory conditions, HIV/infectious diseases, surgery, and emergency and critical care, all under the UKCRC registered ICTU.

  • A well-organized, proactive individual is required to oversee several national and international multicenter randomized clinical trials and manage study staff.
  • They will oversee all trial management aspects, ensuring trials meet the highest scientific and regulatory standards, and may coordinate individual studies as needed.
  • The post holder will contribute to expanding the unit by supporting new grant applications and initiatives within ICTU-Ca and the Department of Surgery and Cancer.
  • Applicants must have proven experience in coordinating multicenter CTIMPs and managing translational research, preferably in an NHS or academic setting.
  • A degree or equivalent in biomedical, scientific, statistical, or related fields is essential.
  • Experience in cancer research and grant development is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to work independently, are required.
  • Well-organized with effective teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and flexible working hours when necessary.
