We are responsible for leading and managing Responsible Business activities, teams, and client service delivery within the Construct, Consult, Operate engine in a global market and/or sector.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring service excellence and delivering purpose-led, measurable outcomes for clients, with a focus on climate change, social value, and biodiversity.
  • Achieving commercial revenue targets aligned with the annual business plan by translating objectives into strategies for profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Leading work winning efforts, bid/no-bid decisions, and maintaining awareness of client pipelines and RFPs.
  • Understanding client drivers and sector standards, collaborating with sector leads to develop service offers for new and existing clients.
  • Providing strategic direction and developing integrated service offers supporting project management, commercial management, and business advisory services.
  • Reporting on bids and maintaining up-to-date records in business development systems.
  • Building and maintaining high-level relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, and representing Mace at events to enhance visibility.
  • Ensuring projects are properly resourced, with a focus on future pipeline and growth, and promoting sector contributions to the company’s strategic priorities, especially regarding carbon metrics and sustainability.
  • Sharing knowledge, insights, and thought leadership from the sector.
  • Working collaboratively on the net zero carbon transition, managing associated emissions and reductions during project delivery.

You'll need to have:

  • Expertise in Environmental & Social Sustainability.
  • Experience in project or programme management.
  • Business development and work-winning skills.
  • Financial management and reporting capabilities.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Industry-specific knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills across multiple levels.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and manage relationships effectively.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent.

You'll also have:

  • Curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in programme design, engagement, and strategy.
  • Interpersonal skills, self-awareness, and the ability to give structured feedback.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of sustainability standards, frameworks, and methodologies, including carbon accounting, embodied carbon, electrification, and green infrastructure.
  • Understanding of governance, risk management, and integration of sustainability into contracts and design processes.
  • Knowledge of biodiversity, nature-based solutions, and social value measurement.
  • Experience with sustainability certification schemes like BREEAM, LEED, WELL, etc.
