Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer/Project Manager II will be responsible for performing detailed engineering design of customized water processing equipment with minimal supervision, communicating with customers, and creating schedules. They will oversee multiple projects, from small/simple to large/complex, through all phases from design to manufacturing. This role requires strong coordination and professional collaboration with sales, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, Quality Control, logistics, and outside vendors.

Specific Job Functions:

  1. Read and interpret customer specification/requirement documents.
  2. Produce P&ID’s, PFD’s, general arrangements, and piping designs according to industry standards.
  3. Conduct specification and sizing of fluid handling components (tanks, piping, pumps, valves, sensors) with minimal experience.
  4. Integrate components into product system designs that meet customer requirements and cost targets with minimal assistance.
  5. Create detailed system drawings for manufacturing and customer documentation.
  6. Create and release BOMs through the engineering change order process.
  7. Develop project schedules and self-manage to meet milestones for moderately complex systems.
  8. Participate in cross-functional design collaboration.
  9. Determine revenue recognition, monitor costs/margins, coordinate invoicing, and monitor receivables.
  10. Incorporate approved changes into work statements, costs, and schedules.
  11. Execute moderate/complex projects independently.
  12. Lead customer meetings to establish deadlines, scope, and commercial details.
  13. Create and modify Sales Orders for BOMs, scheduling, and invoicing.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering (Mechanical or related disciplines).
  • Ability to perform typical design calculations, including pump sizing and flow velocity.
  • 2-5 years of industrial design engineering experience, including 3+ years in capital projects.
  • 1 year of Project Management or equivalent experience.
  • Specific experience in water treatment and capital equipment design.
  • Proficiency in 3-D modeling (SolidWorks); AutoCAD 2-D is a plus.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required depending on projects.
