Full-time

Sanctuary Care is a leading provider of 109 nursing and residential care homes across England and Scotland, providing high-quality care services to the elderly, including residential, nursing, respite, and dementia care. We support over 4,800 residents and employ over 7,300 staff.

Our vision is to continually enrich the lives of our residents, ensuring they receive the best standards of care and support at all times. We also have ambitious plans to grow and diversify our portfolio, continually evolving our business in line with Sanctuary Group’s charitable objectives.

To support us with the next stage of our growth, we are seeking a visionary Director of Operations to lead and inspire our operational teams, ensuring they focus on delivering and maintaining exemplary standards of person-centred care alongside achieving key financial, people, and quality indicators.

As a natural leader, you will build and maintain an inclusive culture aligned with Sanctuary’s Corporate Values. You will also represent Sanctuary at local, regional, and national levels, influencing, contributing to, and representing the sector's needs to ensure future sustainability and viability.

With a passion for business transformation, you will identify, research, and implement initiatives to drive revenue and improve operating margins while maintaining high-quality, competitive services.

Working collaboratively with Group support and operational teams, you will ensure that future strategies and services are tailored to the needs of care, reflecting industry standards and best practices.

Additionally, you will be registered as the Nominated Individual with CQC in England and CI in Scotland, ensuring the monitoring of quality standards and the implementation of risk management strategies.

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline;
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role;
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans;
  • Strong understanding of finance and performance measures, with high business acumen;
  • Track record of achieving growth targets in a competitive environment;
  • Extensive experience in health and social care;
  • Thorough understanding of UK regulatory requirements (CQC and CI) and experience working with regulators;
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to inspire and motivate teams;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel across the UK as needed.
