Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven individual to join our client, a respected global market analysis firm, as a Commercial Director. This pivotal role focuses on driving revenue growth, improving commercial efficiency, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Growth: Collaborate with sales and analyst teams to identify high-potential prospects, refine pricing strategies, and optimize product portfolios.
- Commercial Process Improvement: Lead management accounting and reporting, improve CRM data accuracy, and enhance account management practices.
- Revenue Protection: Identify and address areas of revenue leakage, such as inconsistent pricing and renewal gaps.
- Cost Management: Monitor expenditure and support cost-saving initiatives, particularly in discretionary spend areas.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior commercial or business operations role.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue and managing costs effectively.
- Background in a subscriptions-based or research-driven business, with a strong understanding of recurring revenue models.
- Experience working in a small to medium-sized business (SMB) environment, demonstrating adaptability and hands-on leadership.
- Experience managing a senior sales team, providing strategic guidance and accountability for performance.
- Proven experience managing full profit and loss (P&L), with a deep understanding of revenue and cost drivers.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in management accounting, reporting, and pricing strategy.
- Proficiency with business tools such as Salesforce (or similar CRM platforms) and Xero (or equivalent accounting systems).
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional working style.
- Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and growth opportunities.
