Salary: up to £46,600 OTE, depending on skills and experience, plus fantastic company benefits
Join the UK’s largest repair group in this fantastic opportunity. We are looking for a VDA / Vehicle Damage Assessor at our busy workshop in Chelmsford. Ideally, you will understand vehicles and have knowledge of car parts. We have a small, family-feel team in Chelmsford with a great work ethic and lots of experience.
As part of a team of professionals, you will undertake the inspection of damaged vehicles, assessing the full extent of the damage, repair costs, and timeframes. An important aspect of this job is to identify the correct prescribed repair method and prepare, record, and maintain records of electronic and manual estimates. You will then liaise effectively with insurance companies to obtain their authority to repair the vehicle at the estimated costs. You will also communicate with customers, engineers, and technicians to explain and ensure they understand the repair methodology.
In the role of Vehicle Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing many different vehicles. This requires keeping up-to-date with all repair methodologies and understanding various insurers and manufacturers' literature and bulletins. Teamwork is crucial, as you will work with colleagues in the bodyshop and across other departments. Your aim is to ensure vehicles are returned safely and promptly.
Ideally, you are qualified to ATA / IMI standards, preferably with Audatex experience and a solid Bodyshop background. A full UK driving license is also required.
