GSK is seeking a talented Engineer with a strong manufacturing background to work within the Oral Solid Dose (OSD) department, supporting end-to-end tablet manufacturing (Dispensing, Granulation, Compression, Coating, Packing). The role involves providing engineering technical support for production equipment and related plant operations.

The successful candidate will deliver professional engineering expertise for unit operations, ensuring that design, installation, and performance are maintained and improved throughout the equipment's lifecycle. This includes implementing business improvement upgrades, modifications, and adaptations to meet quality, safety, and performance standards. The role reports to an Engineering Manager and collaborates with technical authorities across multiple equipment platforms.

The Ware Campus is undergoing significant capital investment, with multiple large asset refreshment programs. The successful candidate will influence and provide technical guidance to facilitate this expansion and support existing production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and deliver improvements across OSD platforms and related infrastructure, including supporting documentation and validation reviews, collaborating with equipment manufacturers as needed.
2. Engage with Quality and Safety Practitioners and Regulatory bodies, preparing and presenting at technical quality audits.
3. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and customer service, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
4. Support and drive conformance to asset maintenance strategies and enhance digital and data processes to optimize plant operations.
5. Improve procedures relevant to the OSD Engineering Department.

About You:

• Experience working within highly regulated (GMP) environments.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with a willingness to learn and excellent communication skills.
• Process safety awareness and risk management experience.
• Ability to manage complex engineering projects on manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of operational excellence and leadership principles.

About Ware Manufacturing Site:

The site is co-located with R&D, featuring a state-of-the-art oral solid dose facility. It fosters collaboration among scientists, technicians, and engineers to innovate and deliver medicines efficiently. The site produces over 60 million respiratory inhalers annually and processes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for internal and external use.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in an Engineering discipline, or relevant experience and ongoing development.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering teams.
