Job summary

King’s College London’s Digital Education team is seeking an entry-level QA/content editor to support the creation and delivery of digital learning materials. You will ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across content and assist with workflows to improve processes.

Based primarily at King’s Waterloo Campus, the role allows hybrid working and occasional travel to other campuses as needed. It is a full-time, indefinite contract offering an opportunity to start a career in e-learning.

• Identifying and reporting issues in KEATS using QA tracking tools and ensuring resolution.
• Updating QA process documentation and supporting team workflows.

About the role

The purpose of the role will be to support the team onnumerous & varied tasks. You willbe responsible forthe quality assurance of the content we produce, as well as providing insight on workflows and procedures, flagging issues where necessary.

Youwillfocus on achieving andmaintainingaccuracy,consistencyand quality in everything we produce. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who can work unsupervised and with a mindset about constantly improving what we are doing.

This is an excellent entry level position for anyone looking for a career in e-learning.

The role is primarily based at King’s Waterloo Campus, though you maybe requiredto travel to other campuses on occasion.

Key responsibilities:

• Copyediting and proofreading content, using several styleguidelines & referencing systems depending on the programme (e.g.King’s In-house Editorial Style Guide, APA, etc.) and ensuring consistency in the layout.
• Performing functionality checks&ensuring the content is accessible.
• Reviewing content on different platforms, such as King’s Moodle (KEATS), other virtual learning environments (e.g.EdX), SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
• Identifyingand reporting issues on KEATS using quality assurance (QA) tracking tools and ensuring their resolution.
• Making sure that media transcription and captioning areaccurateand accessible, & transcripts are available to learners.
• Performingsimple edits on the content in KEATS.
• Being up to date with workflows and processes & able to support the team inidentifying & resolving issues.
• Working well with projectmanagementsoftware (e.g.ClickUp).
• Updating quality assurance process documentation.

The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

• Confident and competent IT skills (Microsoft 365, project management tools, Virtual Learning Environments tools or similar) with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
• Ability to work under pressure, balance competing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of distance learning or other technology-enhanced learning.
• Experience of working in the Higher Education sector.

£34,713 to £38,127 per annum including London Weighting Allowance
