Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-run logistics business in Ballymena seek a proactive Transport Planner to join a busy transport team. You will coordinate daily vehicle movements across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, building strong relationships with drivers and customers while improving planning efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport planning or fleet coordination.
• Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland geography and time-critical transport.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills; able to work under pressure.
• Good communication with drivers, customers and colleagues.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (e.g., Qargo) and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily delivery and collection schedules across NI, GB and ROI.
• Allocate work across drivers and vehicles to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Maintain regular driver communication with clear instructions and updates.
• Monitor live transport movements and respond to delays or issues.
• Support KPI reporting and continuous improvements in planning.
• Ensure compliance with Driver's Hours, tachograph regs and Working Time Directive.
• Liaise with workshop for vehicle servicing and equipment availability.
• Manage ferry bookings and changes efficiently.
• Collaborate with Distribution and other departments for smooth operations.
• Enter transport data in Qargo and internal systems.
