Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Special Needs Teacher for a SEND school just outside Exeter. This long-term supply role supports pupils in KS2/KS3 mainly with cross-curricular lessons and requires UK QTS with SEND experience.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, work with teaching assistants, and help pupils with EHCPs for ASD, MLD, ADHD and SEMH. A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach is essential.

Qualifications

• UK QTS with SEND experience
• Ability to follow the National Curriculum and provide creative lessons
• Positive approach to teaching
• Ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils
• Fantastic classroom management

Responsibilities

• Deliver an engaging curriculum for KS2/KS3 with cross-curricular lessons
• Support pupils in KS3/KS4 with SEND per EHCPs
• Work with teaching assistants and the wider staff to support learning
• Provide patient, resilient, and caring support to pupils with ASD, MLD, ADHD and SEMH
