Job summary

Vetro Education in Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder and challenging behaviour across primary, secondary and SEN settings in Wales. You will join a Welsh Government framework staffing provider with flexible shift options.

We offer weekly pay, free training, 24-hour registration, pension contributions and dedicated consultants. Successful candidates will have at least 3 months classroom experience, EWC registration

Qualifications

• At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - SEN experience beneficial.
• Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this.
• References covering the last two years (no gaps).
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour.
• Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day.
• Assisting staff in preparing the classroom for a lesson.
• Working with learners in small groups or 1:1 may be required.
• Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons.
• Assist learners at break time with their lunch.
• Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities.
• Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies.
