Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs school in Ynysybwl, Wales. The role focuses on supporting learners with a range of needs, including ASD, PDA, PMLD and other complex conditions, with a strong emphasis on inclusive practice and safeguarding.

The ideal candidate will have at least three months' experience in schools or childcare, EWC registration, an enhanced DBS on update service (or willingness to obtain one), and solid

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three months' experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check on update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and commitment to inclusive learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise pupils with additional needs (ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay).
  • Assist in preparing classrooms for lessons and activities.
  • Work with learners 1:1 or in small groups.
  • Support staff with lesson delivery and classroom organisation.
  • Engage pupils during break times and assist with lunch.
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Contribute to a safe and nurturing learning environment.
