Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of special educational needs in South Wales. The role focuses on fostering an inclusive learning environment and working with pupils with ASD, PDA, PMLD, and other complex needs.

You will assist in classrooms, support 1:1 and small-group work, help prepare activities, and reinforce positive behaviour in line with organisational policies. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare environments.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to support registration.
  • Current Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Assist learners at the start and end of the school day.
  • Help teachers prepare classrooms for lessons and activities.

  • Support learners during break times and lunchtimes.
  • Engage learners with classroom and outdoor activities.

SEN Teaching Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a leading specialist education provider in the South Wales. This role is ideal for professionals with a passion for supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), pathway-specific diagnoses such as PDA, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), global developmental delay, and challenging behaviour. The SEN Teaching Assistant in this position will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting children with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
