Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant in a SEN school located in Church Village, Pontypridd, Wales. The role supports pupils aged 3 to 16 with PMLD, working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored aid and inclusive education.

The position requires at least 3 months’ experience in relevant settings, registration with EWC, and an Enhanced DBS. Applicants should have the right to work in the UK and a passion for supporting learners with additional needs.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months’ experience in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and supervising learners with PMLD.
• Assisting learners at the start and end of the school day.
• Helping staff prepare classrooms for lessons and activities.
• Working with learners in small groups or 1:1, providing tailored support.
• Supporting the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher.
• Assisting learners during break times and lunchtime.
• Engaging learners in classroom and outdoor activities.
• Following the school’s behaviour management policies.
