Job summary

Samuel Laycock School in Ashton-under-Lyne is seeking a dedicated teacher with QTS or an equivalent qualification to inspire pupils across a broad primary-style curriculum, including SEND learners.

You will plan, deliver and assess lessons, adapt approaches for autism and complex needs, and work collaboratively with families and external professionals to raise attainment and ensure high standards of pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Excellent classroom practice with the commitment, creativity and motivation toinspire pupils' learning and development.
• Experience ofplanning, delivering and assessing learning across a broad curriculumwithin a primary-style model.
• Experience and/ora strong interest in working with pupils with SEND, autism and complexneeds.
• High expectationssof young people, with a commitment to raising standards of attainment andachievement.
• Experience ofenhancing pupil progress and securing positive outcomes for all learners.
• Knowledge of, orwillingness to develop expertise in, SEND-friendly approaches such asTEACCH, Attention Autism, SCERTS, Colourful Semantics, Six Bricks,multi-sensory teaching strategies
• Strong behaviourmanagement skills and an understanding of proactive approaches tosupporting emotional regulation.
• The emotional andphysical resilience required to work with young people who present a widerange of complex learning, communication and behavioural needs.
• The ability tobuild and maintain positive relationships with pupils, families,colleagues and external professionals.
• Excellentorganisational and communication skills.
