Job summary

Samuel Laycock School in Ashton Under Lyne is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Cover) to provide essential cover across the school, supporting learning and pupil welfare.

The role requires experience with pupils with moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum condition, and severe learning difficulties. You will work under the New Bridge MAT, with DBS checks and safeguarding obligations in place.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably in an educational setting.
• Experience in supporting teaching and learning within a special needs setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for staff absence across the school to ensure continuity of teaching and learning.
• Support the class teacher to monitor student progress and differentiate interventions as needed.
• Record student progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
• Work as part of a team to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and social development.
